In a row over who should be allowed to read out the shopping list for the housemates, Coolio told Malone to "shut the f*** up".

Malone then got to her feet and shouted at him: "No f***ing man will ever tell me to shut up."

Coolio took part in Big Brother twice - as well as his 2009 stint, he was invited back to be a housemate on Ultimate Big Brother in 2010.

He had a number of stormy encounters in both series, including falling out with Ulrika Jonsson in 2009 who felt he was overbearing, particularly with the female housemates.

Following his death, Jonsson told PA: "I spent a fair bit of time with Coolio – he was a misogynist, broke wind a lot; he fancied himself as a cook but my God, we had so many laughs."

Sugababes singer Mutya Buena left the 2009 series early as she said that Coolio had made her feel uncomfortable a number of times, and model Lucy Pinder also complained about his behaviour.

It led to a furious row, during which Coolio was called to the Diary Room and by mutual agreement between himself and the producers, he left the house on day five.
