Tristan Thompson came clean on Monday, announcing that paternity test results show that he is indeed the father of the child of Maralee Nichols, who has been suing him for child support.

“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” the NBA player who had an on-again off-again relationship with reality star Khloe Kardashian, wrote on Instagram stories. “I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.”

He went on to “sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately,” especially a particular person.

“Khloe, you don’t deserve this,” Thompson wrote. “You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”

The two have a child of their own, 3-year-old True. They split up in 2019 amid rumors that the NBA star had cheated on her with Jordyn Woods, a close friend of sister Kylie Jenner’s. Rumors – and photos – abounded of him with other women, as well.

Nonetheless, they got back together and quarantined during much of the pandemic. But they split again, and Khloe was reported to be “moving on,” a source told People.

In December, he finally admitted to having a months-long relationship with Nichols, after months of denying that their liaison had been anything other than casual, occasional sex. Her baby, a son, was born Dec. 1. During the time he was having sex with Nichols – who told People last month that she would never have entered into a relationship with the basketball player if she had known he was involved with someone else – he was also dating Khloe.
