PHOTOS: The big winners and losers of 2019 election

With the Liberals winning a minority government, the seat make up of the legislature is about to change drastically.

Here’s who won and lost their seats this election.

Winners:

  • Independent candidate Jody Wilson-Raybould, who resigned from cabinet after the SNC-Lavalin scandal, was re-elected in her riding of Vancouver Granville.

  • The Green Party made a major breakthrough in Atlantic Canada, with their candidate Jenica Atwin winning a seat in Fredericton over Liberal candidate Matt DeCourcey.

  • Conservative candidate Rob Moore took the seat back from Liberal incumbent Alaina Lockhart in the New Brunswick riding of Fundy Royal. He was initially the MP for that riding from 2004-2015.

  • NDP candidate Jack Harris took St. John's East riding back from Liberal incumbent Nick Whalen. Harris initially held that seat from 2008-2015.

  • Conservative Eric Melillo won the Kenora riding in Ontario, defeating Liberal cabinet minister Bob Nault and NDP candidate Rudy Turtle who is the chief of Grassy Narrows First Nation.

  • P.E.I. managed to stay red after candidate Lawrence MacAulay and Wayne Easter kept their seats.

  • Conservative John Williamson, a former MP, grabbed New Brunswick Southwest from Liberal candidate Karen Ludwig.

Losers:

  • The People’s Party leader Maxime Bernier lost his seat in Beauce riding by Conservative Richard Lehoux.

  • Ralph Goodale, one of the most recognizable faces in the Liberal party as Trudeau’s public safety minister, lost his seat o Conservative Michael Kram in Regina-Wascana. Goodale was first elected as an MP in 1974.

  • Jane Philpott, who quit the Liberal cabinet after she disagreed with the handling of the SNC-Lavalin affair, lost her seat running as an Independent in Ontario's Markham-Stouffville.

  • Lisa Raitt, who served as as deputy leader of the Conservative Opposition, lost her seat to Olympic gold-medal kayaker Adam van Koeverden in Ontario's Milton riding.

  • Trudeau’s natural resources minister Amarjeet Sohi lost his seat Conservative Tim Uppal in the Edmonton Mill Woods riding.

  • Liberal Randy Boissonnault lost in Edmonton Centre.

  • The NDP lost multiple seats in Quebec, including Matthew Dubé, Guy Caron, and the contested riding of Beloeil-Chambly.

  • Country singer George Canyon was a familiar face but couldn’t swing Central Nova to the Conservatives.
