A butcher performed a sex act in the street just hours after he allegedly raped and murdered a 21-year-old student, a court heard on Wednesday.

Married dad Pawel Relowicz, 26, is accused of finding Libby Squire "drunk and vulnerable" then “stalking” her before picking her up in his car and raping her then dumping her body.

He denies both rape and murder.

Ms Squire disappeared after a night out with friends in Hull, on 1 February 2019, and her body was recovered from the Humber Estuary seven weeks later.

A court earlier heard Relowicz, originally from Poland, had "uncontrollable sexual urges" and previous convictions for “sexually motivated” crimes in which he “prowled” around the student area of Hull.

He peered through windows at people having sex and stole sex toys from inside people's homes, Sheffield Crown Court previously heard.

Prosecutor Richard Wright QC said just hours after Relowicz came into contact with Ms Squire, he was back out on the street looking for women to perform a sex act in front of.

Relowicz claims to have had consensual sex with the victim before driving home.

He left his house again and drove back to the playing fields where he is accused of raping Libby.

Relowicz claims he returned to the playing fields to see if the student was OK.

However, he did not return home after going back to the playing fields and he was later captured on CCTV masturbating in a nearby street.

The court heard he left a used condom on the path after he had finished.

Mr Wright said: “You say you had consensual sex with Libby Squire.

“Should we understand that wasn’t enough for you?

“Because you had to be back out again looking for women to masturbate at?”

Relowicz, speaking through an interpreter, replied: “This is correct.”

The court was today shown footage of Relowicz parking his Vauxhall Astra outside a takeaway shop at around 2.50am, just hours after Ms Squire vanished.

A woman then approaches his car and as she gets level with it, he hurriedly drives off and parks up on a neighbouring road.

Relowicz claimed it was a coincidence that he set off at that time.

He added he did not know what he was doing two years ago.

Mr Wright asked if it was “what he did to Libby” that made him so aroused.

He said: “Was it that you raped and killed her that sexually excited you?”

Relowicz denied that.

Mr Wright told the court that after he had finished his sex act in the street, Relowicz continued to drive around to look for women.

At around 3.10am, he is seen on CCTV on foot on the corner of the street near his house.

Relowicz claimed he “needed some fresh air” and felt “emotionally broken” for cheating on his wife.

He said he did not like lying to his wife.

The trial continues.
