A Utah man has been charged months after a family of pit bulls he owned brutally attacked his mother in their backyard, according to several reports.

Jeremy Miller, 38, is charged with seven counts of attack by animal in connection with the brutal death of 63-year-old Sandra Miller, police said, ABC 4, KSL and FOX 13 report.

On October 31, police in Taylorsville, Utah, responded to a call from Sandra claiming she had been “attacked and bitten by several dogs," police said at the time, per KSL and FOX 13.

Officers found five pit bull puppies, one adult male pit bull and one adult female pit bull running around “in a frenzy” in the backyard of the home with blood on and around their mouth, according to an affidavit cited by ABC 4 and KSL.

Responding medics found Sandra with grave injuries across her face and hands ,which had rendered her unable to move, per the affidavit, the two outlets reported.

“Her leg had no flesh on it and only the bone remained,” officials noted in the affidavit, per ABC 4 and KSL.

The affidavit further alleges that the responding officer could not locate other injuries on her body because of the amount of blood on her, per ABC 4.

“The dogs were still extremely aggressive, and it took multiple Taylorsville city police officers and animal control officers to keep the dogs away from the victim and contained in the yard,” KSL reported, citing the charging documents.

When Jeremy arrived at the scene where he lived with Sandra, he was allegedly “upset about his fence being damaged and his dogs being taken by animal control," per the affidavit, ABC 4 and FOX 13 reported.

Jeremy later surrendered the dogs to the city, and they were euthanized, per KSL. Sandra died a week later, the outlets report.

It’s not clear if Jeremy has entered pleas or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.
