Cardi B apologises for hosting Thanksgiving dinner during pandemic: ‘I wasn’t trying to offend’

Cardi B has responded after her large Thanksgiving dinner attracted criticism from fans.
Yesterday (29 November), the rapper revealed that she hosted nearly 40 people during her holiday celebrations, with guests consisting of “12 kids and 25 adults”.
Fans were quick to condemn the 28-year-old’s decision to host a party amid the ongoing pandemic. One user wrote: “Doesn’t sound like something to be proud of.”
Another added: “I hope it was worth it for you and those 25 adults and 12 kids. I truly hope it was because I can promise you it’s not worth it to everyone else who is affected by your poor choices aka the healthcare workers who you will run to when you’re sick.”
Cardi B has since responded to the backlash in another Twitter post that reads: “Sorry my bad wasn’t trying to make nobody feel bad.”

The “Bodak Yellow” singer added: “I just had my family in my home for the first time and it felt so good & uplifted me. I spent soo much money getting every1 tested but it felt worth it. I wasn’t trying to offend no1.”
Many followers stepped in to defend the musician. One fan commented: “Y’all can’t let this woman breathe… she was happy she could see her family leave her alone."
Others, however, remained unimpressed by her actions. One said: “Bragging about your large gathering during a pandemic to your millions of impressionable fans who do not have the money that you have to get rapid tests is irresponsible.”
Seemingly in response to the continued backlash, Cardi B shared another tweet, reading: “People be trying too hard to be offended. I wonder how they survive in the real world.”
Earlier today (30 November), Rita Ora was accused of flouting rules from Number 10 after allegedly throwing a 30th birthday party where more than 30 guests attended.
