Prince Andrew Is Reportedly Writing An Autobiography To 'Set The Record Straight' And Fix His Reputation

Seems like Prince Andrew is doing everything he can to get in the public’s good books, with the latest reports suggesting that he wants to release a bombshell autobiography (similar to his nephew Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare) to save his reputation, which has taken a huge hit since he was stripped of his royal patronages and affiliations and fired as a working royal following his sexual assault lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre and apparent friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew's Rumored Tell-All Autobiography
According to The Sun, an insider said that Prince Andrew, 63, "mainly wants to set the record straight" with his rumored tell-all memoir, which the source said "would give him the opportunity to fully explain his association with Jeffrey Epstein and the resulting fallout." The insider added: "If he doesn’t change the narrative, no one else will."
"Everyone close to him is telling him it’s a stupid idea and he should just forget it," the insider went on to say, before going on to add that he could potentially have even more secrets to spill than Prince Harry did!
"Andrew was the original spare and there’s plenty of material," the source continued. "Compared to Harry, he has a far greater depth of history to draw from." The source also said that if the memoir does go ahead, it "would also be a fascinating insight into the inner workings of the royals and their relationships," so it could potentially be even juicier than Prince Harry's!
Potential Consequences Of Prince Andrew's Autobiography
If the Duke of York *does* want the tell-all book to echo Prince Harry's, he must be prepared for a great deal of fallout and perhaps being ostracized by the royal family. This could, even, affect his accommodation, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves stripped of their accommodation at Frogmore Cottage (which coincidentally was given to Prince Andrew earlier this year after his brother King Charles kicked him out of the Buckingham Palace apartment he had occupied for decades) which many believe was a direct result of the allegations against the family in the memoir.
As well as Frogmore Cottage, Prince Andrew still has the Royal Lodge on the Windsor Estate, which he reportedly won't leave "without a fight." Royal Lodge comes complete with 98 acres of land and a swimming pool; although it's unknown whether he will be able to afford living there for much longer since King Charles announced that he will be cutting his allowance, and since he has still reportedly not yet received his inheritance from his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Andrew's Rumored Book Not Expected To Attract Big Publishers
It doesn’t seem like Prince Andrew's rumored tell-all book will be anywhere near as lucrative as Prince Harry's record-breaking memoir which actually became the UK's fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time. This will undoubtedly disappoint the disgraced royal, as according to The Metro, a source said he "needs to find ways of making money and supporting himself," which makes a lot of sense now that his brother has slashed his allowance.
Also according to The Metro, Jeremy Murphy, founder of New York-based PR firm 360bespoke, believes he will still get *some* offers from publishers, but they won't be huge ones with huge budgets as he "still has the slime factor," following the Virginia Giuffre lawsuit and his apparent ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Murphy reportedly added that he would be "surprised if an advance on the book was even a million dollars." Woah!
