‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Viewers Are All Saying the Same Thing About the New Disney Sequel

Hocus Pocus has been a cult Halloween classic for basically as long as we can remember, and people, the wait is over: Hocus Pocus 2 is finally here!

After literally years of discussion, the long-anticipated film officially dropped on Disney+ today (September 30), just in time for spooky season. Almost 30 years on from the iconic 1993 film, Hocus Pocus 2 brings back the three original Sanderson sisters—played, of course, by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimi. And seeing these three back onscreen together is a literal dream.

Fans have been keen to get stuck in right away, with many staying up to watch the sequel first thing—and viewers are all saying the same thing about our return to Salem.

As well as bringing back the original main cast, Hocus Pocus 2 also picks back up with a follow-up story to the 1993 original. As the synopsis outlines: “It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.”

Plus, Winnie, Sarah, and Mary look basically *exactly* the same in costume. And fans have been praising the film for how closely it sticks to the original, shouting out just how nostalgic the whole thing is.

One viewer tweeted, “Just finished watching Hocus Pocus 2. Ahh so much nostalgia!!!! Loved it!!!” Meanwhile, another added, “So Hocus Pocus 2 hit all the warm, happy nostalgic parts of my heart.”

A third homed in on how Bette, Sarah Jessica, and Kathy’s onscreen chemistry seems to have stood the test of time, and it’s so sweet! They wrote, “Hocus Pocus 2 was so cute! It’s amazing how the Sanderson sisters’ chemistry is still there! They were hilarious and exactly the same from the original! Glad I stayed up to watch it!”

Others agreed, with one fan tweeting, “Hocus Pocus 2 is a gem! It stuck to its roots and has the nostalgia! I really liked it! I was laughing my a** off and the sisters really still have that chemistry together! It’s like time has not passed.”
