What started as one-off pillow sales on Instagram is now a full-fledged retail experience. In 2015, designer and founder Amber Lewis opened up her first location in Calabasas, California because she wanted to create a place where her clients, online customers, and blog readers could actually visit to immerse themselves in her contemporary and eclectic designs, and take some of them home.

When it came time to choose a location for her second store, designer and blogger Amber Lewis went “looking for something a little off the beaten path.” The spot she chose—a charming cottage on a quintessential SoCal street in a residential neighborhood—was a deliberate maneuver to break away from the corporate shopping mall experience so common in Los Angeles and around the country these days.

From hand-crafted throws and refurbished vintage furniture to her signature candles, each item in the Shoppe reflects this sentiment, boasting that careful, one-of-a-kind appeal that makes decorating feel so much more rewarding. And aside from carrying unique and special pieces, Lewis’s stores have another edge: Since she’s a designer, shopping there means that everything was hand-selected by an expert. If you’ve ever wanted to peek inside an interior designer’s shopping cart, this is the place.
