Yankees, Orioles announce lineups for Wednesday night game; Yanks go with rookie starter
Don't look now, but the Yankees are catching fire as the first half of the season comes to a close.
The Yankees head into Wednesday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles as winners of four of their last five, and seven of the previous 10. The Yankees are at worst going to split this four-game set after taking the first two against Baltimore.

The Bronx Bombers are sending rookie right-hander Randy Vasquez to the mound. The 24-year-old has made only two starts in 2023 but has surrendered just two runs in nearly 11 innings of work. Vasquez last threw 5 2/3 shutout innings and gave up a mere two hits against the Chicago White Sox on June 8, earning his first win in the big leagues.

For the Orioles, they'll send Dean Kramer to the bump. While he's tied with Gerrit Cole and five others for fourth in the AL with eight wins this season, the Stockton, California, native carries a 5.04 ERA in 17 starts. Kramer's last time out was easily his worst performance of the season. He conceded a season-high seven runs on seven hits in only three innings in an 8-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins on June 30.
Baltimore has struggled mightily in the Bronx in recent years as it has lost 35 of the past 52 meetings at Yankee Stadium.
