Coronavirus: More than 1.5 million cases worldwide; Boris Johnson out of ICU

Over 1.6 million people worldwide have tested positive for the coronavirus and more than 96,000 have died, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The United States remained the epicenter of the pandemic, with over 466,000 cases and more than 16,000 deaths. New York State now has more confirmed coronavirus cases than any country except the U.S. as a whole. Meanwhile, U.S. jobless claims surged to 6.606 million for the week ending April 4 — almost 1 million more than economists were expecting.
In the U.K., Prime Minister Boris Johnson was transferred out of intensive care as he continues to recover from COVID-19.
