So...I guess the correct headline should read, " ... while she was taking selfies and holding a gun," right? I don't think guns come with cameras, do they?!
QUOTE from the movie Shane " A Gun is a tool. It's no better or worse than any other tool. An ax or shovel or any other thing. A Gun is only as Good or Bad as the man that is using it ".
" the girl started posing and taking pictures with it, authorities said. That's when the gun went off," NO!!!! The GUN WENT OFF WHEN SHE PULLED THE TRIGGER!!!!!
Honest mistake, that happened to me the last time I tried to take a picture with my gun.
The gun should have been put up out of the way, but at the same time, what was the 19 year old doing snooping around the house? There are no kids in my household so my firearms are within arms reach in the event I need one. They are locked and loaded and ready to go.
Let's start making excuses of how it's not her fault but the guns fault ( even though she's the one who didn't check if it was loaded and put her finger on the trigger). Not her fault, the owners fault ( although she went snooping through their stuff). Nope, not her fault bc she took a gun, pointed at the boy all for selfies but not her fault.
Need the NRA in schools teaching gun safety classes starting with 1st grade
One would think that the babysitter finding the gun, instead of the boy, would have prevented the boy from being shot. But not in Tx.
"She was taking selfies with a gun", police say.
She probably would've had better luck taking selfies with a camera instead.
You can tell the people commenting here don't know gun safety. A key rule of gun safety would have resulted in this. The girl wouldn't have found the gun and there wouldn't have been an accident because the owner would have placed the gun in a secure place where the accident could not have happened. Take a gun safety course. I learned this when I was 8.
