Wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. of Jackson State football enters transfer portal

The biggest names of Deion Sanders' historic 2022 recruiting class have entered the transfer portal. Former five-star recruit Travis Hunter announced his decision to leave Jackson State on Sunday. He was the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Kevin Coleman Jr., a four-star wide receiver, joined Hunter on Monday.

"Last to thee Jackson State family, I will forever appreciate and remember how you all loved and welcomed me," Coleman wrote on Twitter. "The love for the community and school will forever be there. With that being said I will be entering the transfer portal."

Coleman had seven catches for 137 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers fell 41-34 in overtime to North Carolina Central in the Celebration Bowl last week. The freshman standout finished with 32 catches for 475 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Coleman received offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas and Florida among others before signing with Jackson State.

Coleman joins Hunter along with Shedeur and Shilo Sanders in the transfer portal.
