Here’s Why Vanderpump Rules Alum Laura-Leigh Was Mentioned on WWHL
Laura-Leigh famously departed Vanderpump Rules before the end of Season 1 because she had been cast in a “huge movie with Jennifer Aniston,” but it turns out that she already had a Hollywood connection before joining the show. Actress and Bravo superfan Gillian Jacobs revealed as much during Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on April 12.
“You know who I actually met long before the show was Laura-Leigh,” Gillian told Andy and her fellow guest, Lala Kent. “I went to Juilliard, Laura-Leigh went to Juilliard. I was about two years out of college and one of the teachers called me and said, ‘We have this student who really wants to do indie films. Will you talk to her?’ because I was primarily doing very low-budget indie films. So I had a coffee with Laura-Leigh years before Vanderpump [Rules].”
Fast-forward a couple of years and imagine Gillian’s surprise when she spotted the then-22-year-old on TV. “That’s actually why I started watching the show,” she shared. “My boyfriend had Bravo on, I walked past him and I was like, ‘What is Laura-Leigh doing on?!’ So I’m a day one.”
Gillian said she hasn’t seen Laura-Leigh since their meetup, but she remembers her being “very lovely” and that they “had a very nice coffee.”
Jax Taylor Has Some Shocking Thoughts on Ex Laura-Leigh Today
This, believe it or not, isn’t the only time WWHL viewers have recently heard about Laura-Leigh. Just last month, Katie Maloney revealed that she had tried to get in touch with her at one point, but her effort was to no avail.
“I have reached out in [the] recent past!” Katie said when asked if she thought Laura-Leigh would still be part of the show if she hadn’t booked the Jennifer Aniston film (We’re the Millers, BTW). Her response? No.
Andy followed up by wondering if Laura-Leigh was “not receptive” to the message, and Katie agreed since she had apparently been left on “read.”
Katie Maloney Has an Update on Ariana Madix
In the years since Laura-Leigh’s Vanderpump Rules departure, she’s had several different acting roles on TV shows such as the police procedural Blue Bloods and films including the thriller Under the Silver Lake.
Upon scoring a role in We’re the Millers, Laura-Leigh told Lisa Vanderpump, “It doesn’t feel like it’s real. I used to watch [Jennifer Aniston’s] E! True Hollywood Story at home, like on my couch in Arkansas, and be like, ‘I can do that.’”
Now she really is doing it.
