Where Does Becky Lynch Fit Into the Current WWE Landscape?

Few names in WWE today have had more of an impact on the business than Becky Lynch. During her recent absences, though, the women's division has evolved.

Bianca Belair has firmly taken over the top babyface role on Raw; Ronda Rousey is the top star on SmackDown; and Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai have become integral parts of both brands.

Along with her fellow Horsewomen, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks, the business has gone on successfully without the Irish Superstar. However, these women each have unique value that cannot be replaced.

Perhaps no one is more unique than Lynch. She has made herself a household name to rival Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. As good as the female wrestlers in WWE may be, arguably none can match her for pure star power.

While there is no official timeline set for The Man's return, she is likely to be back soon. Where will she fit in this new WWE landscape and women's division? There are plenty of interesting possibilities.

Bayley has formed an unstoppable alliance with Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai, and they have already captured the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. It is an important group that is defining both main roster brands.

One of the first women to put the group over was Lynch. Damage CTRL were credited with putting her on the shelf after she injured herself in her battle with Bianca Belair.

Upon returning, The Man is most likely to feud with the group. If she is fully healthy in November, she could be a surprise entrant in the Survivor Series WarGames match.

If it takes longer, Damage CTRL should still be her first target. She and Belair both have a bone to pick with the faction, and they could become a very interesting tag team to watch.

The only worry is whether Lynch will be able to go over this developing group. It could be too soon for Bayley, Sky and Kai to meet their match, but The Man will be a high priority going forward on the program, win or lose.

Beyond Damage CTRL, Lynch has plenty of potentially interesting rivalries that she has never explored. The two most intriguing on Raw are Rhea Ripley and Candice LeRae.

After making her in-ring return on last week's NXT, Ripley should quickly rise up the ranks as the most interesting member of The Judgment Day.

She has wrestled Lynch once before, but it was an impromptu contest that did not end conclusively. The two have also changed roles since that time. This is a story that could even become a major part of WrestleMania 39 or SummerSlam.

LeRae is another interesting opponent for Lynch. The two have no history but plenty of individual experience between them, and The Man can help establish The Poison Pixie on the main roster.

If Lynch did return on SmackDown, she could also feud with the likes of Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi and Sonya Deville. However, there is one name that stands out among the rest for her immediate future.

Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey is the match.

WWE can put on countless dream contests in the future, but none are going to make the same impact as the moment The Man and The Baddest Woman on the Planet compete one-on-one.

While they verbally clashed on the way to competing in the first all-female WrestleMania main event, Charlotte Flair's involvement did not allow them to fully tell their story together.

These two are the biggest female stars in WWE history. Their match is a headline attraction for the company anywhere in the world, and both are, arguably, better wrestlers than they were at WrestleMania 35.

Now that Rousey is SmackDown women's champion again, the stage is set for The Man to challenge her. Lynch could win the women's Royal Rumble match in January to set up this match, or she could talk her way into it as only she can.

No matter what, Rousey vs. Lynch has to happen before long. There is no telling how much longer the former UFC star will remain in WWE, and this is the one match that cannot be missed.

Lynch is a six-time women's champion and the longest-reigning Raw women's titleholder in history. She is one of just five women to win a women's Rumble match. When she leaves the company, she has a good chance of making it in Hollywood.

The 35-year-old has nothing left to prove, but that doesn't mean she won't have plenty left to win. Hopefully, she will have the opportunity to forge the path for the rest of her career after she has recovered.

It is likely The Irish Lass Kicker will win a few more titles, add more major accolades to her record and, most importantly, solidify her legacy by putting on more great performances with the present and future of the division.

While it may not feel like Lynch is important to WWE at the moment, the company will benefit more from her return than anyone else who is currently out of action.
