'Wheel of Fortune' Announcer Puts Together Sweet Surprise For Contestants' Daughter
See what 'Wheel of Fortune's' Jim Thornton had up his sleeve for a Florida couple's two-year-old girl.
Leave it to Wheel of Fortune to put a smile on someone's face.
The beloved game show has a habit of making its contestants' days a little brighter, and this time, the show had a special surprise for one Florida couple.
In a clip from a recent episode, shared to Instagram on Friday, Feb. 18, a pair of contestants by the names of Miller and Alicia opened up about their family, specifically their two "beautiful and brilliant" daughters: Tatum, 4, and Raya, 2.
The latter of the two girls apparently sent her parents off to the show with an important favor, to bring her home a unicorn. "So fingers crossed, you got one?" Alicia joked to host Pat Sajak, likely assuming that there was no feasible way for the show to actually conjure up the fictional creature.
"We'll have to look in our unicorn section here," Sajak sarcastically stated in response.
But in true Wheel of Fortune style, the show did have something up its sleeve to give the little girl the souvenir she was hoping for. At the end of their game, Sajak told Miller and Alicia that they had something else to give them, in addition to the $4,000 they won.

"We have something else for you," Sajak told the contestants after going over their winnings. He then pointed to Jim Thornton in the announcer booth, asking, "What do you got, Jim?"
The camera panned to Thornton, who was holding up an adorable unicorn piñata that was, of course, stamped with a big Wheel of Fortune sticker.
"Something I put together, just threw together for you...a little memento," Thornton explained, while the contestants beamed with joy and expressed their thanks. They even got a photo backstage holding up the adorable trinket for their daughter.
"Their baby asked for a unicorn, so we found one 🦄❤️," the video on the WOF Instagram account was captioned.
"Wheel of Fortune making Dreams come true!!😍 unicorns 🦄 too!!" one fan wrote in the comments.
"Jim Thornton always comes up clutch!" added another.
The only thing that would have made the sweet sentiment better is if we'd gotten to see the little girl's reaction for ourselves!
