What's open, closed around Greater Cincinnati on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this year
Since Christmas Day falls on a Saturday this year, many of the normal office hours and services that would have been closed to observe the holiday will close as usual for the weekend, including banks, government buildings and trash collection.
Many of those services may close early or not open altogether on Christmas Eve to observe the Christmas holiday the following day.
Even without running your usual errands, there's still plenty to do around Cincinnati to celebrate the holiday season.
But to be prepared for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, here's everything to know about what's open and what's closed.

What's open and what's closed on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24
Banks: Some banks will be open and may close early, including Chase Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Federal Reserve Banks, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and TD Banks.
Mail services: Hours on Christmas Eve for the U.S. Postal Service will vary by location, so check your local USPS. Some locations may have extended hours leading up to the holiday, with others may have limited hours on Christmas Eve.
Trash service: If your regular trash collection day from the city of Cincinnati falls on the Friday of Christmas Eve, trash will be collected the following day. Collections for the remainder of the week will be delayed one day.
Schools: Schools in the area, including Cincinnati Public Schools, Covington Independent Schools, Newport Independent Schools, Kenton County Schools, Boone County Schools and Campbell County Schools will be closed for winter break.
Local government: Hamilton County offices and services, Campbell County, Kenton County and Boone County offices will be closed.
Federal offices: The federal holiday of Christmas Day will be observed on Friday, Christmas Eve. All non-essential government employees will be off work and most government offices will be closed.
Libraries: Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library will be closed on Christmas Eve.
Stock markets: The New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq will be closed on Christmas Eve.
What's open and what's closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25
Banks: Banks will be closed, including Chase Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Federal Reserve Banks, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and TD Banks.
Mail services: Christmas Day is a postal holiday, so the U.S. Postal Service will not deliver regular mail, though Priority Mail Express will be delivered. Post office locations will be closed and will reopen and resume regular mail delivery on Dec. 27.
Trash service: Since Christmas Day falls on a Saturday, there is no regularly scheduled trash pickup from the city of Cincinnati.
Schools: Schools in the area, including Cincinnati Public Schools, Covington Independent Schools, Newport Independent Schools, Kenton County Schools, Boone County Schools and Campbell County Schools will be closed for winter break.
Local government: Hamilton County offices and services, Campbell County, Kenton County and Boone County offices will be closed.
