Fans had to wait just a little bit longer for the regular-season debut of Brevard County high school football for 2022 when wind brought dark clouds, rain and lightning to the area in the late afternoon.

After play began, Eau Gallie and Palm Bay surged, while Cocoa suffered a rare home loss in a meeting of ranked teams.

Rockledge's home game against Gulliver Prep was postponed when lighting took out the power to the stadium, and the Raiders romped on Saturday.
