How to watch, listen to University of Sioux Falls football vs. Upper Iowa
USF has lost three in a row following a 7-0 start, but their playoff hopes haven’t evaporated yet. The Cougars are seventh in the latest regional rankings, and the top seven get in. That doesn’t mean it’s win-and-in on Saturday, but a loss would certainly eliminate them.
SIOUX FALLS (7-3) AT UPPER IOWA (1-9)
WHEN/WHERE: Noon Saturday at Eischeid Stadium in Fayette, Iowa
TV/ONLINE: NSIC Network
RADIO: KWSN-FM 98.1/AM 1230
COACHES: USF – Jon Anderson (6th year, 39-17); UIU – Jason Hoskins (2nd year, 2-19)
SERIES: USF leads 8-1
LAST TIME: USF won 42-21 last year in Sioux Falls
LAST WEEK: USF lost 31-24 to Wayne State
RANKINGS: Neither team is ranked
ABOUT THE MATCHUP: The Peacocks are having a rough second season under Hoskins, giving up the most point in the NSIC (37.4) and scoring the third-fewest (14.4). Their lone win this year came against a Minot State team that had been winless until last week. They have no players near the top of any of the statistical leaderboards.
USF will be hoping to play a cleaner game after they melted down last week in front of their home fans in a loss to Wayne State where a Cougar win would’ve all but assured them of a playoff spot. They committed seven fourth quarter penalties as the Wildcats stole the come-from-behind win.
The Cougars will try to lean on NSIC rushing leader Thuro Reisdorfer one last time, though the senior has been banged up in recent weeks even while rushing for 1,223 yards and 17 touchdowns. Adam Mullen is third in the NSIC with 2,054 passing yards. Zach Durfee ranks second in the league with 11.5 sacks, while Ethan Wittenburg’s 692 receiving yards are sixth-most in the conference.
