Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown got into a heated argument with quarterback Jalen Hurts in the fourth quarter of the Eagles' 34-28 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday.

Philadelphia coach Nick Sirianni stepped into mediate between Hurts and the former Tennessee Titan, who had just three targets at the time of the dispute. Indeed, Brown was targeted just six times throughout the "Thursday Night Football" matchup, accumulating 29 yards on four receptions. Last season, he was targeted six or fewer times in only four regular season games.

It seems the dispute may have come from Brown's usage in the game: He had a substandard outing vs. the Vikings, bringing his season total to 11 catches on 16 targets for 108 yards and no touchdowns. Meanwhile, Hurts completed 18 of 23 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown, adding 35 rushing yards and two scores. His former Alabama teammate, receiver DeVonta Smith, tallied 131 yards and the lone receiving touchdown on just four receptions.

Despite the disconnect between the two NFL stars, the Eagles coasted to a victory against quarterback Kirk Cousins and the Vikings. Philadelphia moved to 2-0 on the season after defeating the New England Patriots in the season opener.

The 2023 NFL season marks Brown's second year with the Eagles after three seasons with the Titans. The Eagles traded for Brown during the 2022 NFL Draft, giving up the 18th and 101st overall picks in exchange for the talented, 6-1 receiver to add to their superstar core. Brown signed a $100 million contract with the Eagles, a number the Titans refused to match, and responded by catching 88 passes for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Eagles will head to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers in Week 3 of the NFL season as Hurts looks to get Brown more involved in the offensive attack.
