WATCH: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes shares offseason workout videos

It’s that time of the offseason where we get to obsess over offseason workout videos from our favorite NFL players. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is known for sharing some of the best.

Mahomes underwent offseason toe surgery to fix a turf toe injury shortly after Super Bowl LV. He was wearing a walking boot until shortly after Easter. In mid-April, Mahomes said his injury was running “ahead of schedule.”

“Yeah, I mean I think I’m progressing well,” Mahomes said. “I think I’m ahead of schedule myself. Obviously, they’re trying to be cautious and not push me out there too soon, but I’m doing what I can. I got out of the boot finally, it took forever and now I’m trying to get back on the field and get that stuff working. So I’m sure they’ll keep me along that same pathway to hopefully be able to do some stuff by the end of the offseason.”

By the looks of it, being ahead of schedule might not be wishful thinking for Mahomes. He shared a pair of offseason workout videos on his Instagram page recently and he looks to be in perfect health.

He’s working with his longtime trainer, Bobby Stroupe, at Athlete Performance Enhancement Center (APEC) in Texas. Mahomes has been training alongside Stroupe since he was in the fourth grade. They’ve since developed a unique routine that’s really catered to his skill set and body. These videos, however, seem to place some emphasis on the area of concern, which is Mahomes’ foot injury.

Mahomes is expected to be ready to go to start the 2021 NFL season, but these videos suggest that he might be able to participate in other offseason activities. We’ll see what happens come OTAs and mandatory minicamp, but this is certainly a good sign for the Chiefs.
