How to watch, attend Fisk University's gymnastics competition debut in Nashville area
Fisk University's gymnastics team will make its first — and only — local appearance against college programs during the 2023 season at the Tennessee Collegiate Classic in Lebanon.
The event, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 20, will consist of Fisk, Southeast Missouri State, Kent State, Lindenwood and Ball State.
In December, Fisk launched the nation's first HBCU gymnastics program. And this month, Fisk debuted in competition, opening its season in Las Vegas at the Super 16 invitational. The program is led by head coach Corrinne Tarver.
Three meets into the season, Fisk has its first champion.
On Monday, freshman Morgan Price, a pre-med major, won the all-around championship at the University of Georgia's quad meet with a score of 39.375. Price tied for first in the vault (9.875), tied for third on the uneven parallel bars (9.875) and tied for fourth in the floor exercise (9.875).

As a team, Fisk placed fourth.
Price is a Lebanon native — her father, Chris Price, was a standout baseball player at Lebanon High School and Middle Tennessee State University in the 1980s and '90s. In 2009, he died in a motorcycle crash.
