  • The other day, Riverdale star, Vanessa Morgan spoke out about the lack of representation of black people in media.

  • She just claimed that she's "paid the least" out of all the show's series regulars.

  • Now, the actress has vowed to no longer take roles that don't properly represent black people.

Vanessa Morgan is continuing to share her feelings when it comes to representation on Riverdale. The actress just revealed that she makes less than any of her costars, despite being a series regular on the show.

Someone on Twitter suggested that since Vanessa's character is black and gay, she should get paid more. "Double the diversity - DOUBLE UR PAYCHECK IMO," the fan wrote.

"Lmao too bad I’m the only black series regular but also paid the least," Vanessa replied. "Girl I could go on for days."

Vanessa was promoted to a series regular on Riverdale at the beginning of season three, but her character still sees considerably less screen time than others.

This is the second time Vanessa seemingly called out Riverdale this week. The other day, while defending her former costar Ashleigh Murray, the actress stated that "the show should write for her like the white characters."

She later wrote that she was tired of "being used as side kick non-dimensional characters to our white leads." While she didn't explicitly say it, this seemed to be a dig at her character, Toni Topaz, who is more or less a glorified "side kick" to Madelaine Petsch's Cheryl Blossom.

Vanessa revealed that she would continue the fight for more black representation in media. "To my black fans, I have now made it my purpose to fight for us," she wrote on Twitter. "To the six year old me who had no role model that looked like me on TV. This is for you. We aren’t your token black non dimensional characters. This is being black in Hollywood. I will fight for YOU."

She also announced that she would "no longer take roles that don’t properly represent us. PERIOD" and will begin to wear and support Black designers at all future red carpet events.

Finally, Vanessa made sure to clarify that her comments had nothing to do with her fellow costars. "My role on Riverdale has nothing to do with my fellow castmates/friends," she wrote. "They don’t write the show. So no need to attack them, they don’t call the shots & I know they have my back."

Lili Reinhart shared her support for Vanessa on Twitter, writing, "We love you, V. And support you 10000%."
