Union Parish Police Jury declares Friday as 'Trey Holly Day'

Union Parish football senior and LSU football commitment Trey Holly continues to pile up accolades in his final season with the Farmers.

The Union Parish Police Jury on Tuesday declared Friday the official "Trey Holly Day." Holly will play his last regular-season home game Friday as the Farmers (8-1) host undefeated Carroll (8-0) for the LHSAA District 2-3A title.

"First off I wanted to thank the man above for even allowing me to play the game that I love," Holly said on Twitter. "Secondly I wanted to thank my home town."

The proclamation cited Holly's setting the Louisiana career rushing record as the reasoning for the dedication. Holly broke the record of 8,708 yards in the Week 4 matchup against Bastrop. He enters Friday's game with 9,711 yards.

More recently, Holly took advantage of the new LHSAA rule that allows high school athletes to profit off of their name, image and likeness, partnering with Gordon McKernan Injury Attorney.
