This ultra-modern outdoor storage shed glams up my backyard—and got me organized

Outdoor storage sheds, while useful, tend to be total eyesores, adding no design value to your backyard. But, when the walls of my 1955 single-car garage started to close in on us, I knew I needed more space.
So, I went searching the internet high and low for the most attractive outdoor storage shed I could find. The Keter Artisan Storage Shed checked all of the boxes on my wishlist: plenty of room, durable materials and, above all else, a stunning modern design.

The Keter Artisan Storage Shed is made from UV-resistant and waterproof materials like two-tone polypropylene resin plastic and has a steel reinforced roof. The stylish outdoor storage shed comes in multiple sizes, including 7-foot by 7-foot, 9-foot by 7-foot and 11-foot by 7-foot.
The shed, which also comes with a heavy-duty resin flooring base, is available for purchase at major retailers like Wayfair, Walmart and Amazon.
The shed is build with French doors, and the single door handle has a hole where you can put a pad lock to secure your lawn equipment and other items.
It took my husband and our friend about three hours to put the shed together, which is right on par with the building estimate Keter gives for the 7-foot by 7-foot size with two people involved.
It weighs slightly over 300 pounds, so you'll definitely want some extra hands to help you move the boxes it comes in and help with the overall construction.
You can install this outdoor storage shed on a cement pad, wood frame or directly on the ground. We opted to place it directly on the dirt, though we spent time leveling out the ground first and recommend you do the same for any shed you invest in.
We placed pebble rocks along the exterior of the shed to make it a feature piece in our backyard (and it also makes it easier to mow and edge the grass with this setup).
It doesn't come with any internal storage shelves or hooks, so you'll need to purchase those separately depending on your needs.
I've had this storage shed in my Central Florida backyard for nearly one year now, and it has held up well through hurricanes, thunderstorms and the relentless hot Florida sun.
The roof can withstand up to 440 pounds of snow, which is an important consideration if you live in a cold climate.
Keter claims the shed will not peel, rot or rust, and so far I can attest that those claims are true. It looks just as new as the day we got it, keeping my lawn mower, cordless leaf blower and other yard tools dry from the rain and protected from the sun.
I was concerned about air flow and the impacts on my lawn equipment, but the inside of the shed stays surprisingly cool because of top side ventilation, even on the hottest and most humid Florida days.

There are a lot of sheds out there you can choose from (and many of them look like sheds), but one of the main reasons I selected the Keter Artisan Storage Shed is because of the modern design. With its sleek lines and neutral color palette, this doesn't look like your average outdoor storage shed. It looks more like it could double as a California-style tiny house in your backyard.
The shed is paintable, which is a handy attribute if you live in a neighborhood with an HOA and need it to fit within a certain color scheme.

I don't mind sitting by the fire or under our patio's sun shade and seeing the Keter Artisan Storage Shed in the backyard. It's an attractive way to clear out space in my garage without junking up the backyard.
