The youngest person ever elected to the Richmond County Board of Education apparently took his own life on Tuesday, said officials.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen reported that Tyrique Robinson, 20, "died from ... suicide" at his home at The Glen at Alexander apartment complex on Alexander Drive. A call to authorities referencing a suicide was made at 4:10 p.m. and Robinson was pronounced dead at 4:50 p.m.

Bowen said the investigation is ongoing.
