Police are dealing with a "suspicious" vehicle in London's Sloane Square after two pedestrians were injured in a collision.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they are investigating the car after it was found abandoned in Chelsea, south West London, this afternoon.

Ambulance crews treated two men at the scene who have been taken to hospital for treatment.

A MET spokesperson said: "Police are on scene in Sloane Square, SW1 where they are dealing with a vehicle which has collided with two people. We await a condition update. The car was found abandoned."

"Cordons were put in place and buildings in the surrounding area were evacuated as a precaution while officers searched the vehicle. A man was subsequently arrested for driving offences."

The force added that neither of the injuries were serious and the incident is not terror-related.

Following the reports, Greg Hand, MP for Chelsea and Fulham, tweeted: "Am hearing that a vehicle mounted the pavement and struck pedestrians. Am checking with eye-witnesses that everyone is OK."
