As Tropical Storm Nicole moves through Florida, there's a potential for a dangerous storm surge, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall for a portion of those areas, according to the Hurricane Center.
Winds are forecast to reach hurricane strength in some places.
Nicole is a large storm, and widespread impacts from a prolonged period of coastal flooding, tropical-storm-force winds, heavy rainfall, rough surf and rip currents, and beach erosion are likely along much of the southeastern United States coast.

What's the storm season forecast for 2022?
What started as a slow hurricane season picked up and had fierce impact as Hurricane Ian devastated Southwest Florida and left flooding in other Florida communities and the Carolinas. It's November, but forecasters from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration warn hurricane season is not over. Nicole is the 14th named storm in Atlantic basin and more could develop.
