If you love Trader Joe’s, sweet treats, delicious food hybrids, or all three—this is going to make your day!

The grocery giant just announced that their famous “Brookie” (a delish cookie-brownie hybrid) is about to get an incredible upgrade with a “wonderfully nutty” favorite: peanut butter.

Yes, we’re about to get a Peanut Butter Brookie, and fans are absolutely freaking out.

A Delicious Hybrid Gets A New Look

Trader Joe's original Brookie was released a few years ago, the result of hard work by "an Ohio baker with a reputation for brownie brilliance." The OG Brookie has a bottom layer of brownie—"a rich dark brown batter, with sweetly fragrant cocoa notes and a pleasantly fudgy chew"—and a top layer of golden cookie batter mixed with sweet chocolate chips, all baked together to perfection with "a slightly soft, tender center with a gloriously chewy edge".

A recent statement by Trader Joe's expanded on the decision to upgrade the Brookie: "The Brookie was an instant hit...[so] we felt the time was right to bring in another delectable doubleheader onto our shelves." The supermarket even went so far as to commission the new Peanut Butter Brookie recipe from the same "Ohio baker" that supplied the original.

The peanut-buttery new version of the dessert fave also includes a layer of sweet peanut butter cookie batter between the brownie and cookie layers, which is mixed with crunchy bits of chopped peanuts. After baking, a sprinkle of sea salt is added to "round out that crunchy, salted peanut butter profile."

Fan Comment: "You Had Me At Peanut Butter"

Fans of the brand are already blowing up Twitter with their enthusiasm for the Peanut Butter Brookie:

Trader Joe's suggests enjoying the Peanut Butter Brookie anytime as a treat, and for a plus-up, to warm it up and top with a scoop of ice cream. It looks like the sweet-'n-savory new item is already hitting stores, so make sure to grab a package (or two)...before fans snatch them all up!
