Canadian TV host Tracy Moore says she's 'floored by my own trajectory' in work anniversary post
Tracy Moore is "floored" at her most recent milestone.
The 47-year-old television personality took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a video with her followers announcing her work anniversary. Over the years, Moore noted that she spent 14 years hosting "Cityline" and three years on "Breakfast Television."
"Today I woke up, I looked at my emails, and it is my 17-year anniversary at Rogers — 17 years!" Moore exclaimed to a round of applause, while jokingly adding: "Don't fire me, I like it here!"
In her caption, Moore reflected on her career since she began her undergraduate studies at McGill University.
"When I told my dad I was getting a degree in political science, he said, 'Good, sweetheart. You'll be able to hold a great conversation.' That's how low the standards were for an arts degree in his opinion," Moore reflected. "Fast forward two decades to a 20-year career in television."
"I am floored by my own trajectory. No big family name. No industry contacts. Just two dedicated parents and a whole 'lotta grit. If you've opened a door for me on this journey — thank you. For the viewers, when you see me ruining recipes and laughing my a— off on the show...it's real. I love it here."
In the comments section of the post, several colleagues and fans showed their love for Moore.
"Happy anniversary, my friend. All the love to you," wrote "ET Canada" host Cheryl Hickey.
"Massive congrats! I love you there too!" added Canadian television host Teri Hart.
"This caption is just so special," penned Canadian influencer Sarah Nicole Landry, while adding a red heart emoji. "You are so special!"
"Happy anniversary! Cheers to 17 more and beyond!" one fan replied.
"It’s my 17-year anniversary of watching you on TV! Congratulations and a great run, and here’s to many more years," commented another.
"Congrats! So happy for you! What an inspiration," someone chimed in.
On top of a successful television career, Moore often takes to social media to share motivational and personal messages with her followers.
In August, the Richmond Hill, Ont. native shared another Instagram post reflecting on her career. In that post, she included several photos of herself over the years and explained some challenges she faced as a new journalist.
"When I started working as a reporter, I felt really proud. And really confused because I had no idea how to be myself on camera," Moore explained. "I probably hung onto more parts of myself than others, but I still felt the need to play a role like many of my reporter colleagues.
"Whether you're watching Tracy Michelle Moore, Tracy, Tray or just plain T...I'm just different degrees of the same core girl. ... It's good to celebrate all the parts of who we are."
