Track roundup: Uxbridge boys take SWCL; Whitinsville Christian, Nashoba also prevail at conference meets

Boys' track

SWCL Championships: Uxbridge held off a tough challenge from Grafton, as the league championship was decided on the final event, with the Spartans' 1,600-meter relay team taking the win (3:52.68) over the Gators (3:55.43) to give Uxbridge an 87-86½ win at Oxford High.

Uxbridge's Aidan Ross won the 2 mile (9:33.24) and 800 (2:05.9), while Cam Caso claimed the 200 (23.02) and 400 (53.66). The Spartans also took the 400 relay (45.62).

Grafton's Aditya Kaki won the 100 (11.42), edging teammate Liam Donagher for the title with both running 11.42, while Kaki also finished second in the 200. The Gators also got second-place finishes from Luke Herren in the 2 mile and 800.

Auburn's Garrett Papierski won the shot put (46 feet, 1 inch) and the discus (133-11) to help the Rockets place third with 77 points.

Tantasqua took fourth with 66½ points, led by wins from Cooper White (400 hurdles, 1:00.48) and Derek Plowman (javelin, 146-2). Millbury's Nolan Charbonneau won the 110 hurdles (15.91) as the Woolies took fifth with 46.

Quaboag's Owen Stevens took the long jump (20-6) and high jump (5-10), while Southbridge's Luis Gonzalez won the triple jump (40-3½).

Catholic Conference Classic: Senior Lucas Carvalho won the 800 (2:01.96) as St. John's took second with 96 points. Host St. John's Prep took the team title with 170 points.

St. John's junior Antonio Waife was second in the high jump (5-10), second in the long jump (22-6) and third in the 110 hurdles (17.39).

Senior Emmanuel Mahoney was second in the 100 (11.65), classmate Francis Devaney was second in the 400 (51.44), junior Ron Burton took second in the triple jump (42-9.75,) and sophomore Gabriel Devaney was second in the 400 hurdles (1:00.11) to lead the Pioneers.

Max Davis, Burton, Chris Senecal and Emmanuel Mahoney took second in the 400 relay (45.90), and Carvalho, Andres Infante, Jackson Dorazio and Francis Devaney were second in the 1,600 relay (3:33.14).

Dual Valley Conference Championships: Jack Crowley won the mile (4:52.26) and Ethan Enoch (39-3¾) claimed the triple jump as Whitinsville Christian used its depth to take the league title with 120 points at Blackstone-Millville.

The Crusaders also won the 400 relay (45.86).

Hopedale's Ari Levine won the shot put (44-11) and the discus (126-2) and teammate Jackson Hunt won the 2 mile (10:12.59) to help the Blue Raiders take second with 106 points.

Douglas took third with 97 points as Luke Lightbown won the 400 hurdles (59.99) and 110 hurdles (16.46), and teammate Darius Buivydas took the 400 (53.04), Dominic Rossi won the high jump (5-8) and Colin Squier the 800 (2:04.98). Douglas also took the 1,600 relay (3:44.95).

Nipmuc's Aidan Lucier won the 100 (11.5), 200 (23.7) and long jump (19-5) as the Warriors took fourth with 84 points.

Blackstone-Millville's Ousman Tourray won the javelin (137-7).

Mid-Wach B Championships: Gabriel Merrow won the 100 (11.31), 400 (52.55) and pole vault (10-0) to send the host Wolves to the team title with 201 points.

Nashoba's Connor Aceirno won the 800 (2:05.9), and Sawyer O'Riorden took the high jump (6-2), while the Wolves also swept the relays, winning the 400 (46.41), 1,600 (3:50.42) and 3,200 (9:41.64).

Leominster's Stefano Penniman won the 200 (24.3) and the javelin (148-5) and Darius Davison won the 400 hurdles (1:00.8) as the Blue Devils placed second with 99 points.

Marlborough's Felipe DeAraujo won the 110 hurdles (15.49) and Parker Rogers was tops in the shot put (42-10) and discus (149-6) to push the Panthers to third with 82 points.

North Middlesex's Samuel Donovan won the 2 mile (10:59.26), and teammate Alexander Murray took the mile (4:54.61). Fitchburg's Stephen Bate (long jump, 21-2) and Ryan Tamfu (triple jump, 40-6) also were winners.

Mid-Wach C Championships: Groton-Dunstable's Zak Metzger won the 800 (2:08.87) and 2 mile (9:58.93) to help the Crusaders wrap up the team title with 141 points at Lunenburg High.

Quabbin's Will Hood won the 100 (11.42) and the 200 (23.48) and teammates Bryce Venne took the 400 hurdles (1:04.18) and Jamie Mailloux won the triple jump (39-2¼) to help the Panthers took second with 118 points.

Lunenburg took third with 115 points behind wins by Ray Beardmore (140-0) in the discus and Ben Bartow in the javelin (149-0). The Blue Knights also swept the relays, winning the 400 (47.17) and 1,600 (3:42.55).

Hudson's John Kuhn won the long jump (19-11) and the high jump (6-0), while Oakmont's Declan Leclair (110 hurdles, 16.81) and Russell Hertel (400, 52.37) also captured titles.

Girls' track

Mid-Wach B Championships: Nashoba had wins by Ella Rogers (mile, 5:40.46), Lailee Joyce (800, 2:38.92), Caroline Collins (2 mile, 12:12.88), Hannah Benoit (high jump, 4-9), Bella Cotter (discus, 89-1) and Lilia Rosadini (javelin, 106-1), while the Wolves also won the 1,600 relay (4:40.17) as they cruised to the league championship at home with 212 points.

North Middlesex's Caitlin Kimball won the 400 hurdles (1:17.7) and Sam DiFonte won the long jump (16-0.5) to help the Patriots take second with 110 points, edging Marlborough at 109 points.

Ava VanBuskirk led the Panthers with wins in the 100 (11.31), 400 (1:00.45) and triple jump (33-10.5), while teammates Wendy Aftmosis won the pole vault (6-6) and Abby Hennessy claimed the shot put (31-2).

Leominster's Tishany De La Rosa won the 200 (27.28).

Dual Valley Conference Championships: Kyah Montano won the 400 (1:01.08) and shot put (30-8¾), and Emma Nadolski prevailed in the 800 (2:26.67) and 2 mile (1:22.73) as the Warriors took the team title with 215 points at Blackstone-Millville.

Nipmuc also got wins from Riley Restic (110 hurdles, 16.04), Caroline Brigham (high jump, 4-8) and Casey Keyes (triple jump, 33-5). The Warriors swept the relays, winning the 400 in 52.9 and 1,600 in 4:25.67.

Whitinsville Christian's Avery Glidden was tops in the 200 (26.21) and 400 hurdles (1:04.41), Kira Simoncini won the 100 (12.63), and Meadow O'Connell claimed the javelin (94-6).

Sutton's Abrielle Choma won the discus (87-1) and shot put (30-8.8), while teammate Annabella Lamoreaux was first in the mile (5:25.83).

Mid-Wach C Championships: Carli Stanford was tops in the 100 (12.89), 200 (27.04) and the long jump (16-0) to help host Lunenburg capture the team title with 192 points.

The Blue Knights also got wins from Karynna Long (100 hurdles, 17.45), Abby Rodriquenz (2:32.03) and Alexa Jenkins (31-8.5).

Groton-Dunstable took second with 113 points, as the Crusaders were led by wins from Lindsay Ketelhorn (400 hurdles, 1:13.29), Cassie Prechtl (discus, 101-4), Allegra Gutermann (high jump, 4-10) and Georgia Books (2 mile, 12:07.11).

Hudson's Rachel Korowski won the mile (5:35.91), Savannah Gao prevailed in the javelin (112-4), and Madeline Haher took the 400 (1:03.7) and triple jump (33-11) to help the Hawks finish third (95 points). Hudson also won the 1,600 relay (4:43.73).

Oakmont's Madi O'Brien claimed the pole vault (8-6), and Quabbin took the 400 relay (53.82).
