APPLETON - A Green Bay-based eye care clinic is expanding surgery care in Appleton next year.

The Tower Clock Eye Center is opening an outpatient ambulatory surgery center, expected to open in late spring next year. It will be next to Tower Clock's eye clinic at 3142 N. Richmond St. in Appleton. The new surgery center will perform cataract, glaucoma, and cornea surgeries.

The 7,085-square-foot building will include two surgical sites, a procedure room, eight pre-operation and recovery rooms and additional office spaces.

“Tower Clock Eye Center and Tower Clock Surgery Center have been providing quality patient-focused subspecialty eye care for over a decade,” said Dr. Kurt Schwiesow, an owner and surgeon at Tower Clock Eye Center, in a news release. “We’re excited to bring that same level of care to patients in the Fox River Valley."

Construction for the surgery center started Wednesday.

Tower Clock Eye Center's other surgery center is in Green Bay, which opened in 2013. Its eye clinic in Appleton opened in 2022.
