Thor, McDreamy, Batman and even the Joker have waved the green flag at the Indy 500

As has been the tradition in recent years, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced its honorary starter this week: Adam Driver, who grew up in Indiana.

Driver will be the next in the line of non-drivers who have waved the green flag at the race. Here's a look at some of the other celebrities who have taken on the role.
