Steelers GM Omar Khan didn’t rule out adding another inside linebacker

Even after all the moves the Pittsburgh Steelers made in the offseason, the inside linebacker unit is still a huge question mark at training camp. But thanks to some shrewd work with the salary cap, all is not lost.

This was a sentiment shared by general manager Omar Khan. He noted to the media on Thursday that the team is in a good place financially and understands they can make a move if it presents itself.

Specifically, when asked about inside linebacker, Khan said, “If there’s an opportunity to upgrade a position, they’ll do it.”

Pittsburgh signed Elandon Roberts and Cole Holcomb to start at inside linebacker this season. That’s after losing Robert Spillane and Devin Bush to free agency and releasing Myles Jack. This never felt like an upgrade it is good to hear Khan say the team hasn’t completely closed the door on signing another inside linebacker in free agency.
