State Rep. Paul Renner, named by the Republican caucus as House Speaker-designate for the 2023 and 2024 sessions, has been re-elected for state House District 19.

Renner cleared a final hurdle by winning re-election Tuesday with 64% of the vote over Democratic challenger Adam Morley.

It was the fifth straight time Renner beat Morley. And it was no surprise, given the makeup of the Flagler County-centric district, about 45% Republican and 29% Democratic, and the disparity in campaign finance.

Renner spent more than $200,000, as compared with Morley, who spent less than $10,000.

For Renner, the election was more about what kind of a majority he'll have in the Florida House in 2023-24.

District 19 represents both Flagler and St. Johns.
