Stars of the Day: Diman boys basketball falls to Holbrook; Stang hockey sweeps pair
HOLBROOK — The Diman boys basketball team fought tooth-and-nail throughout Monday's contest before falling to unbeaten Holbrook, 62-47, at Holbrook High School.
Ezra Cote led the way for Diman (0-2) with a team-high 13 points. Teammate Dylan Amaral chipped in with nine points.
The Bengals travel to Bourne on Thursday.

BOYS HOCKEY
Bishop Stang 5, Rockland 3
The Spartans opened the season strong, beating non-league opponent Rockland on the road.
Quinn Pine led Stang (1-0-0) with two goals and two assists. Justin Gouveia chipped in with a goal and two assists. Nate Moniz and Adyn Simmons also scored a goal in the victory.
Jack Jedrey and Devon Beck each finished with an assist. Brayden Bennett had eight saves in net for the win.

GIRLS HOCKEY
Bishop Stang 3, Matignon 2
The Lady Spartans opened the season on Saturday with a road win over Matignon.
Jenna Nogueira, Isabella Batista and Mikayla Brightman each scored goals for Stang (1-0-0). Emily Curran, Kacey Curran, Sam Souza and Kate Plante each collected assists.
Sophia Babineau had 16 saves in net for the Spartans.
