St. Mary's Springs leads high school football rankings; Berlin jumps into top 5

Here are the Oshkosh Northwestern/Fond du Lac Reporter high school football rankings after Week 3. Teams are ranked "pound-for-pound" with each team's success in relation to enrollment size.

1. St. Mary's Springs (3-0): Ledgers ranked No. 1 in the latest Associated Press poll (small schools). Senior linebacker Tom Koffman leads the team in total tackles (25) and also has a sack and a fumble recovery. Next: Friday at Omro.

2. Mayville (3-0): Cardinals get big 33-29 win over Flyway Conference rival Campbellsport. Senior running back Blake Schraufnagel is fifth in the state in rushing (611 yards) and tied for fourth in touchdowns (10). Next: Friday at Winnebago Lutheran.

3. Fond du Lac (2-1): Cardinals bounce back from Week 2 loss with 41-7 victory over Appleton East. Senior quarterback Stephen Schreiter leads the state in passing yards (981). Next: Friday at Neenah.

4. Winnebago Lutheran (3-0): Vikings outlast Lomira 28-27 to stay undefeated. Junior receiver Noah Gensler has 10 catches for 212 yards and four touchdowns. Next: Friday vs. Mayville.

5. Berlin (2-1): Wyatt Hamersma scores three touchdowns in Berlin's 49-0 victory over Ripon. He had eight rushes for 98 yards and two scores and two receptions for 69 yards and a score. Next: Friday vs. Sheboygan Falls.

Others: Oshkosh North (1-1-1).
