Spring break in Corpus Christi: Apollo Towing Service to offer students free tows, rides
Apollo Towing Service will continue its NO EXCUSE Spring Break Tow campaign, providing free tows and rides home to students living in and visiting Corpus Christi and Padre Island.
The program is available 24 hours a day from 6 p.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Sunday, March 19. It's intended to deter driving under the influence among those who may have overindulged during spring break, according to a news release.
Students needing assistance can call 361-853-0003 to arrange a pickup and must present their student ID to the Apollo driver.
The annual spring break program, now in its 11th year, has assisted hundreds of drivers in the Coastal Bend.
Here's what to know for a free ride or tow:
Tows must be conducted in Corpus Christi and Padre Island ZIP code areas.
Driver must present a valid student ID.
Towed vehicle must be operational (not wrecked or broken down).
Apollo Towing Service will transport vehicle and driver only.
Driver must have keys for vehicle being towed.
Operators will assist each NO EXCUSE customer in and out of tow truck.
Operators may not charge for NO EXCUSE tows.
Operators will not ask any questions.
