Sports scores, highlights: Atlantis baseball cruises to victory, Westport blanks Holbrook
The spring high school season is underway for Fall River area teams.
Here's a look at high school highlights from Tuesday's action:
Baseball: Atlantis Charter 13, Avon 1
LOCATION: Atlantis Charter
DATE: April 25
RECORD: Atlantis Charter, 3-2
HIGHLIGHTS: The Tritons' offense erupted in a mercy-rule victory over Avon at home. Owen Dorego went the distance for Atlantis Charter, striking out six while scattering five hits and one run. Ethan Frias had two hits and five RBI. Karter Perreira and Owen Dorego each had two hits in the win.
NEXT UP: The Tritons face Westport on Thursday.

Baseball: Westport 20, Holbrook 0
LOCATION: Westport
DATE: April 25
RECORD: Westport, 6-2 (4-0 in Mayflower Comprehensive)
HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats mercy-ruled league opponent Holbrook at home. Shawn Lavoie got the win on the mound for Westport, pitching four innings of one-hit ball with four strikeouts. Lavoie helped his own cause with three hits. Will Souza joined him with hits. Noah Sowle, Vaughan Costa, Max Morotti, and Ben Boudria each had two hits. The Wildcats pounded out 17 hits.

Softball: Westport 7, Holbrook 3
LOCATION: Holbrook
DATE: April 25
RECORD: Westport, 5-2 (4-0 in Mayflower Comprehensive)
HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats won their fourth straight game, beating league opponent Holbrook on the road. Mackenzy Ponte pitched the complete game in the circle, striking out eight batters. Offensively, Jayda Pequita was 3-for-4 with two stolen bases. She was also a standout at shortstop, making several key plays defensively. Tess Silvia went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Peyton Mahjoory finished with two hits, including a double and two RBI. Morgan Pacheco was also a standout defensively at second base.

Softball: Bridgewater-Raynham 5, Durfee 1
LOCATION: Bridgewater-Raynham
DATE: April 25
RECORD: Durfee, 2-5
HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers lost a hard-fought game against Bridgewater-Raynham on the road. Julia Rumsey and Ava Amaral each had hits for Durfee. Brook Silvia went the distance and allowed just four hits.
NEXT UP: The Hilltoppers face New Bedford on May 1.
Boys Tennis: Durfee 5, Brockton 0
LOCATION: Fall River
DATE: April 25
RECORD: Durfee, 3-3
HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers swept all five matches against league opponent Brockton at home. Durfee won all three singles matches and took both doubles matches.

Boys Tennis: Somerset Berkley 5, Dighton-Rehoboth 0
LOCATION: Chapman Courts, Somerset

RECORD: Somerset Berkley, 7-1 (5-1 in South Coast Conference)
HIGHLIGHTS: The Raiders won their seventh straight win after sweeping five matches against league opponent Dighton-Rehoboth at home. It was the sixth straight win by shutout. Joseph Ramos (6-1, 7-6 (6), Zach Costa (6-1, 6-4) and Max Petit (7-5,7-5) each won their singles matches. Jackson Souza and Matt Carlesi won their first doubles matches, 6-1, 6-1. Ian Sullivan and Ashton Khoury swept their match at second doubles, 6-0, 6-0.

Boys Tennis: Bishop Stang 4, Diman 1
LOCATION: Fall River
DATE: April 25
RECORD: Diman, 0-4 (0-4 in Mayflower Large)
HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals dropped four of five matches against non-league opponent Bishop Stang at home. Sophomore captain Connor Kennedy won his first match of the season for Diman in three sets. Second doubles team of Aidan Damaso and Andrew Librera lost in a close tie-breaking, third set.

Girls Tennis: Somerset Berkley 4, Dighton-Rehoboth 1
LOCATION: Dighton-Rehoboth

RECORD: Somerset Berkley, 5-3 (4-2 in the South Coast Conference)
HIGHLIGHTS: The Raiders took four of five matches against league opponent Dighton-Rehoboth on the road. Abbie O'Brien won in straight sets for SBR at second singles, 6-4, 6-4. Ava Aguiar won her match at third singles, 7-5, 6-3. First doubles tandem of Caroline Puccini and Kori Tickel won their match while Lauren Roosa and Gabby Fernandes won at second doubles

Girls Tennis: Durfee 5, Brockton 0
LOCATION: Brockton

RECORD: Durfee, 5-3
HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers swept all five matches against league opponent Brockton on the road. Dalia Karam won a tiebreaking match for Durfee at first singles, 6-2, 6-6, (tie breaker 7-4). Liv Rumsey won her match at second singles, 6-3, 6-2. Brooke Tabicas won in straight sets at third singles, 6-3, 6-2. Gabby Farias and Maggie O'Connell won a tie breaking match at first doubles, 6-4, 6-6, (tie breaker 7-5). Sydnie Duong and Emalee Freitas won at second doubles, 6-4, 6-2.

Girls Tennis: Old Rochester 5, Case 0
LOCATION: Swansea
DATE: April 25
RECORD: Case, 1-6 (0-5 in South Coast Conference)
HIGHLIGHTS: The Cardinals lost a five-set match against league opponent Old Rochester at home. "Well fought match against a very skilled team," Case head coach Mackenzie Deschenes said.
NEXT UP: The Cardinals face Dighton-Rehoboth on Thursday.
Girls Outdoor Track: Diman 69, West Bridgewater 67; Diman 112, South Shore 24
LOCATION: West Bridgewater
DATE: April 25
RECORD: Diman, 4-0-1
HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals remain unbeaten after sweeping their tri-meet against West Bridgewater and South Shore on the road. The race against the Wildcats came down to the 4x400 where Diman's team of Dakota Valente, Isabelle Chekares, Grace Flattery, and Eden McCausland hung on to win (5:02). Top performers were Emma Foley, who was a triple winner in the long jump (15'), triple jump (31'9"), 100 (13.4), and took second place in the 200 (28.5). Grace Flatter took first in the high jump (4'10), 400 hurdles (1:18) and placed third in the triple jump (30'8). Other winners include Chekares (400), Katie Miranda (shot put) and Kaylee Lachapelle (javelin).
NEXT UP: The Bengals take on Blue Hills and Tri-County on May 2.
Boys Outdoor Track: Diman 99, South Shore 37, West Bridgewater 76, Diman 59.5
LOCATION: West Bridgewater
DATE: April 25
RECORD: Diman, 4-2 (4-2 in Mayflower Large)
HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals split their tri-meet with South Shore and West Bridgewater on the road. Cashton Richard won the javelin (131.5) and the 400 hurdles (63.3) for Diman. Will Ferreira was a double winner, winning the mile (5:24) and the 2-mile (11:19). Ethan Cabral won the 400 (56.0) and Andrew Gesner took second in the 400 (57.1). Nathan Nascimento ran two state qualifiers (11.2 in the 100) and (23.1 in the 200) which was good for two second place finishes.
NEXT UP: The Bengals face Blue Hills and Tri-County on May 2.
