Softball year in review: Carlee McCondichie
Auburn’s season came to an end on Sunday when the Tigers fell 5-1 at the hands of the Clemson Tigers in the final game of the regional hosted by their opponents.
Auburn had a productive year. The Tigers won 43 games for the first time in the Mickey Dean era and finished third in the SEC.
The end of the season brings reflection. After looking back at Aspyn Godwin’s season, it is now time to highlight senior utility player Carlee McCondichie. McCondichie announced that she will be entering the transfer portal, but had a productive season for the Tigers.

Batting Average: .303
While a .303 batting average is nothing to be ashamed of, it was only the third-highest mark of McCondichie’s career after she hit .469 in 2020 and .338 in 2022.
Games played: 58
McCondichie played in 58 games which was the most in her career. McCondichie played in 57 games last season and only 29 in 2021.
Hits: 36
The 36 hits logged by McCondichie in 2023 is the second-highest mark of her career after hitting 46 a season ago.
Home runs: 2
McCondichie’s two home runs also make the second-highest season total in her career after hitting four in 2022. Her Auburn career will end with seven total home runs a slugging percentage of .455.
RBI: 22
McCondichie’s 22 RBI are the most in a season throughout her Auburn career after recording 21 last season. Her time with the program will end with 50 total RBI.
Fielding percentage: .963
McCondichie’s fielding percentage was the third-highest of her career, but she recorded 62 put-outs and 43 assists which were both career highs. McCondichie’s accuracy was impressive as she only committed four errors in 2023.
