Shipshewana Airbnb host named Indiana's most hospitable with 221 perfect reviews
Booking a short-term rental through sites like Airbnb can be a bit nerve-wracking.
Some have a hard time with the idea of staying in a stranger's home, while others worry about possible scams or homes not matching their listings.
Users rely heavily on reviews written by other travelers, and one host has been named Indiana's most hospitable thanks to a trove of rave reviews.
Airbnb named the most hospitable host in every state earlier this summer, selecting the winners who had at least 100 reviews and achieved 100 percent 5-star ratings in cleanliness, check-in and communication.

Best Airbnb host in Indiana
Indiana's winner of the award is Gretchen Miller, a superhost of the 'Hidden Creek' listing in Shipshewana with a five-star rating after more than 220 reviews.
"I am humbled by the gracious reviews from our guests and the recognition from Airbnb," Miller wrote to IndyStar. "I’m the third generation of our family to host Shipshewana’s visitors. My grandmother and mother both operated Bed and Breakfasts in their homes for many years. I strive to provide clean and comfortable accommodations that will make our guests visit to Shipshewana relaxing and enjoyable."

The Hidden Creek
The two-bedroom home can accommodate 4 guests, and according to the listing is on five acres surrounded by peaceful pastures and wetlands 1.5 miles from the center of town.
The family lives in the upstairs unit, while you would stay in the downstairs apartment where you'll find a fireplace, two bathrooms, and a private entrance.
But what really sets this home apart is the hospitality.
After welcoming guests to the community for three generations, it shows in the thoughtful touches and extras that leave guests raving.
"Spotless and comfortable inside and out! It rained on our overnight trip, but enjoyed the comfy porch swing," one recent reviewer said. "The homemade monster cookies were very yummy!"
"Gretchen is friendly and made us feel welcome," Susan, a guest in July said in her review. "We felt so comfortable and slept peacefully. This is a true gem, and Gretchen has thought of everything! There was cold water in the fridge, homemade cookies, coffee (with creamer in the fridge), tea, and everything you would need to make meals. The linens were soft and like new."
