Arkansas basketball forward Makhel Mitchell was ready for Wednesday's high-profile matchup against Alabama.

The Rhode Island transfer made his first start of the season against the Crimson Tide and made it count early.

Mitchell dunked over Alabama's Noah Clowney in the first 75 seconds and let out a guttural yell afterward.

The officials did call Clowney for a foul, and Mitchell completed the and-1 by making the free throw.

Mitchell was inserted into the starting lineup against an Alabama team that has a lengthy frontcourt and starts Clowney, Charles Bediako and Brandon Miller together.

Mitchell, the twin brother of fellow Razorbacks forward Makhi Mitchell, came into Wednesday's game having played 76 minutes over 11 games this season. He has averaged 3.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per game and is third on the team in blocks (9) despite the limited playing time.

Both players had up-and-down starts on Wednesday. Clowney hit an open corner 3-pointer seconds before being dunked on by Mitchell, while the Razorbacks forward picked up two fouls before the under-16 timeout in the first half.
