Section 4 football semifinal scores, matchups
This weekend's Section 4 football semifinals featured three of New York’s top-ranked teams seeking to repeat as sectional and state champions in their respective enrollment classifications.
One of those three, Chenango Forks, was a 40-7 winner over Newark Valley in Class C on Friday night, setting up a showdown in the final against Waverly. The Wolverines, whose lone loss came to Forks, were a 48-14 semifinal winner against Susquehanna Valley.
Maine-Endwell and Tioga similarly advanced Saturday to finals.
The long-term target will be berths in Dec. 3-4 state championship games in the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse.
