Reputed gang member sought in assault case arrested by El Paso County sheriff's deputies
A reputed gang member wanted by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office was arrested last week in connection with two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, officials said.
Samuel Rodriguez, who is a reputed Chuco Tango gang member, was arrested Feb. 13 by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Warrants Fugitive and Apprehension Unit in connection with a June 2021 aggravated assault of two men, sheriff's officials said.
Deputies received information that Rodriguez was at staying at a home in the 300 block of Borrego Road in San Elizario. He was taken into custody without incident.
According to an indictment, Rodriguez allegedly pulled out a firearm and threatened two men during a fight, then fled. The indictment does not state what led to Rodriguez pulling out the weapon.

A grand jury indicted Rodriguez on Dec. 22 on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to court documents.
Rodriguez was booked into the El Paso County Jail on Feb. 3 on a bond totaling $100,000.
