Red Herring Theater postpones 2 shows, cancels another due to pandemic
Red Herring Theater Company has postponed two productions and canceled another because of the latest wave of the pandemic.
“We think it’s a wise and prudent decision, in an effort to keep artists and audiences safe from the omicron variant,” Artistic Director Michael Herring said.
“The Schedule,” a new farcical play about Hollywood by Columbus playwright/filmmaker Sheldon Gleisser, originally was announced to open in mid-January, but now will run Feb. 17 to March 24 at the company’s South Side space, 3723 S. High St.
In turn, that pushes back “Dancing Lessons,” the Midwest premiere of Mark St. Germain’s off-beat romantic comedy, to March 24 through April 10, Herring said.

Because of the compressed 2022 schedule, the previously announced March-April production of Martin McDonagh’s play “A Behanding in Spokane” has been canceled.
The troupe will resume its regularly scheduled programming beginning on May 5 with the opening of “The Legend of Georgia McBride.”

With the company now producing only nine plays in 2022, Flex Pass Subscribers who purchased the original 10-show season will have three options: Using the “Spokane” tickets for another production, donating tickets back to the theater or receiving a $10 refund per ticket.
