In recent years, how has Texas fared when it headed into its bye week with a loss?
Due to a bye on the schedule, Texas must wait a week to get the taste of last weekend's 34-30 loss to Oklahoma out of its mouth.
However, this isn't an unfamiliar feeling. This marks the fifth straight season that Texas has lost ahead of one of its byes. In three of the past four years, Texas bounced back from a pre-bye loss with a victory.
This time around, Texas will attempt to return to its winning ways during a trip to Houston on Oct. 21. The Big 12 Conference announced on Monday that the FOX-televised game will kickoff at 3 p.m.
Texas and Houston are old friends from the Southwest Conference, but it has been a while since the two teams saw each other. After playing every year between 1976-95, Texas and Houston last met in a 2002 non-conference game. Texas holds a 16-7-2 advantage in the series.
