Oxnard native and Grammy Award-winning rapper Anderson .Paak will hold his annual fundraising music festival, .Paak House, at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura on May 12.

The artist announced the fifth annual event Tuesday, the same day fair officials touted the high-profile festival in a board meeting. The lineup of performers has not been announced but a news release said it will be a "surprise all-star" list.

The last festival was held at Oxnard's College Park in December 2021 and included .Paak, Rae Khalil, Joyce Wrice, D Smoke, Thundercat and the Free Nationals.

Other performers in past years have included Seth Rogen, Kali Uchis, Ty Dolla $ign and many more. This year's festival will include a second stage for emerging artists in a partnership with HUE Unlimited.

.Paak was born in Oxnard and grew up in both Oxnard and Ventura. He's an eight-time Grammy winner who performed at the Super Bowl in 2022 and has shows scheduled after the charity festival in Milan, Italy; Ossegempark, Brussels and Brockwell Park in London,

The local festival started in 2017 and raises money to support the nonprofit Brandon Anderson Foundation, named after the rapper’s birth name. The group works to support underserved youth through access to the arts, community outreach, after-school programs and more.

The festival was staged at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles for three years, sat out 2020 because of the pandemic and then moved to Oxnard.

"I want to give back more to the city that gave me my character,” .Paak told the Star before the 2021 festival.
