Rams claim DT Larrell Murchison off of waivers following release from Titans

The Los Angeles Rams are thin along the defensive line and they are bringing in some depth on Monday. After being released by the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, the Rams have claimed defensive tackle Larrell Murchison off of waivers.

Murchison was a fifth-round pick by the Titans in the 2020 NFL draft out of North Carolina State. He spent the past three seasons with the Titans, logging 15 combined tackles and two tackles for loss in 26 games (five starts).

The Rams have endured injuries to Aaron Donald, A’Shawn Robinson, and Marquise Copeland in the trenches on the defensive side of the ball. Donald has missed two straight games, Robinson is out for the season, and Copeland suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 14 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

If Donald and Copeland are ruled out in Week 15, then the Rams are down to four healthy defensive linemen on the active roster. While he likely won’t have a large role immediately, Murchison may be adding much-needed depth on the defensive front.
