Nobody in the United States matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, and Monday's prize now moves to an estimated $1.9 billion.
However, in California, five tickets matching five numbers were sold. Those 5/5 tickets are worth $1,120,390 each, the California Lottery said.
Those tickets were sold at the Susanville Supermarket, in Northern California; a Rite Aid in Encinitas; and a 76 gas station in San Leandro, in the Bay Area.
Suspense in the air
In California, Powerball prize amounts are pari-mutuel, and vary depending on ticket sales and the number of winners, and differ from the fixed prizes shown on the Powerball website. As of 9:15 p.m. Saturday, the California Lottery had not released information about whether any winning tickets were sold in the Golden State.
Typically, the California Lottery says it knows within about two hours of a drawing whether a winning ticket was sold here.
By 11:15 p.m, the California Lottery released a message on its website saying: "Powerball is experiencing a delay in finalizing the national draw results which will determine the new jackpot amount and allow winning tickets to be paid."
However, by Sunday morning, the situation had been resolved.
When is the next Powerball drawing?
The next Powerball drawing is Monday, Nov. 7. Drawings are held at 7:59 p.m. PT every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
