Poll: Which Broward high school athlete should be the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week? (Oct. 1)

Broward County’s top athletes shined again this week with more stellar performances as the 2023-24 high school sports season moves into October.

This week, we resume a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Broward County high school sports.

Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Oct. 5, around 10 p.m.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

Simor Price, South Broward, football: Price recorded two interceptions including one he returned for a touchdown and had a sack to lead the Bulldogs to a key, 20-7 district win over Miami Dr. Krop.

Zori Brown, St. Thomas Aquinas, girls’ volleyball: Brown recorded a combined 42 kills in wins over West Palm Beach Kings’ Academy, Coral Springs Charter and Archbishop McCarthy.

Davi Belfort, Western, football: Belfort completed 14 of 22 passes for 264 yards and four touchdowns, including a 99-yarder, to lead the Wildcats to a win over Sunrise Piper.

Jonathan Weinberg, Pine Crest, boys’ golf: Weinberg shot a 70 to win the Morrison Invitational and lead the Panthers to the team title.
